Ideal is I to L

Hello my long-not-seen friends! “Wassup wassup” as my coach would say. “What’s the craic?” would be the phrase if we were in Belfast. “How you doin'” – if Joey wanted to hit on you. (It’s a good chance lol.) “How _are_ you?” is my go-to phrase after a hug. And I really would wait and listen to how are you – not always because I’m such a nice and friendly person (I can be) but sometimes because I don’t want to tell youย  how I am.

I am incomplete. Imperfect. Irregular. Especially this week. I missed blogging, and the A to Z challenge so muchย but things piled up at work and had insanely long hours. I’m now tired as fuck and my plan for the long weekend of Easter is to sleep. And maybeย do my Easter cards. (Better later than never, eh?)

But this week is about laughter and being laughed at so here’s a joke I made up. (Literally 5 minutes ago, just for this challenge ๐Ÿ™‚ )

My cat and your cat walk into a cat bar.

“Gimme a big glass of 3.5% milk with whipped cream!” my cat says with defiance.

“Shit!” your cat says with open-mouthed admiration, and before she finishes her glass, that’s exactly what my cat does.

Knocking myself down

The original plan was to record a video of myself telling a joke but I don’t want to show up with hair undone, wearing no bra and my old glasses. But that’s what I do at the weekends at home, and after the week I had, I can’t be arsed to do more. (Not even for you ๐Ÿ™‚ )

This also holds the message that the way I am in my natural form is not enough for others. Can’t be enough, is what I say to myself with hiding me. I guess deep down, before I reach that level of self-love that must be there, I believe I’m ridiculous. That’s why I am afraid to really put myself out there. That’s why I always hold back.

Links to laughter

Well that confessionย was a bit heavy but I’d like to finish this catch-up post on a lighter note. So here are some posts that made me laugh this morning reading the A to Z challenge:

Thank you all for being your lovely selves and here’s to a good, relaxing day even if it’s not a bank holiday where you are. Take it easy. Tomorrow I’ll be back with an interesting video that I’ve been wanting to make since I had the idea. See you then!

I have created this blog to keep me on track as I work on facing, overcoming my often irrational fears. I want to live life more freely, less restricted by my own imagination. For April’s A to Z challenge I am tackling one big fear each week: started with “Being Seen” and currently focusing on “Hurt by Laughter“.

  1. LOL It’s not yet seven here and I haven’t had my coffee. Took me a minute to get the joke, but once I did, it reminded me of more than one kid I grew up with, pushing his weight around until his mother caught up with him. I hope you get the rest you need this weekend. Find me here. LINK

  2. Love that you can’t be arsed to gussy yourself up because you’ve had a long week. I say go ahead let those bosoms be free and wild, wear a wet tee-shirt and I promise you whatever you turn up wearing, or not wearing, in your video we will love you still. Keep up the great posts and good catch up. ๐Ÿ™‚ Linda

  3. I absolutely love everything about your posts..the fact that you could muster up all the energy to write a catch up post after that tiring week. You even came up with the joke which made me imagine what cats could do๐Ÿ˜œ
Most of all, I love your spirit of being absolutely frank & energetic.. looking forward to the video!!

  4. Thank you for the visit it was very kind of you and thank you for comment and link that was also very very kind. Particularly as I’m dead grumpy and tend to point at folk and shout go away.

Apparently I am commenting using my WordPress account which is cool but not entirely sure what that will mean as the A to Z is on Blogger. Anyway i enjoyed the letter L . I am always disheveled even when i try not to be but luckily my eyesight is rubbish so I dont notice although my wife will sometimes say . . . What the hell are you wearing now you can’t meet the Queen in that . . . I bet the Queen doesn’t dress up at weekends either.

  5. I appreciate that you still managed to catch up with the missing letters. A+++. I probably wouldn’t have done the same.

Enjoy your weekend. I hope you get the rest you require/deserve.

  6. Ha, well I think if you’re not arsed that’s fine. And it’s fine to do whatever you please on your own blog? On the internet no one knows what you’re wearing or even who you are. It’s tough to write and work at the same time!

  7. I’ve had those days where someone asks how you are and you just… you can’t even work up to the lie of “fine.” And they know it. But yeah. My go to reply on those days is, “next question, please.” Works with people who know me well and realize they can’t fix things.

It’s good when you can laugh. Cat shitting at a drink order… ha ha ha. I love cats.
